Kuvan ikkunassa lapsuudesta tutut helat. Nyt alkaa olla sen verran lämmintä, että voi pitää ikkunoita auki. Hyttysverkkokaan ei olisi pahitteeksi, sillä eilen illalla oli tyyntä. Hyttyshyökkäys yllätti.

At Dawn I Will Win
Valokuvatorstain 228. musiikkihaaste: Nessum dorma (None Shall Sleep)
Puccini began working on the opera Turandot in 1920. The next year, he started composing the music. Two years later, in 1924, Puccini had all but finished the opera's final duet. Puccini disliked the text of the duet and postponed composing it until he was able to correct the text. When he finally chose the words for it, two days later he was was diagnosed with throat cancer. Having decided to travel to Belgium for treatment and surgery the last week of November 1924, Puccini died as a result of the surgery on November 29. Therefore, the opera itself was never finished by Puccini. (lainaus täältä)

Muistot / Memories

muistot kaikuvat loputtomina kuin
vastakkaiset peilit
eikä niitten kautta voi astua kuin toisiin
itsensä kuviin,
ulkona taivaanrannan tähti, kumipallo, ja koira
Caj Westerbergin runo kokoelmasta Uponnut Venetsia (Otava 1972)
on tämän viikon l. 160. Valokuvatorstain haaste.
the endless echo of memories
takes me like a mirror
into new pictures of myself,
there´s a star in the horizone, a ball, and a dog outside
A poem by Caj Westerberg from a collection Sunken Venice (Otava 1972) ( translated by me)
