Taas sateenkaari / Another Rainbow

Eilisiltaisen ukkoskuuron vielä jatkuessa havaitsimme olevamme sateenkaaren alla. En ottanut takkia enkä kenkiä, vaan lapsen lailla "juoksin" sukkasillani ulos etsimään paikkaa, josta runsaan puuston takaa saisin ikuistettua tämän aina niin ihmeellisen näyn.

We had a thunder storm yesterday. It was still raining when we realised that we were under the rainbow. Knowing how short these magic moments are I dashed out to find a place where I could capture this view. We are surrounded by trees. I would have liked to have been somewhere higher.

Keskiviikkona oli harvinaisen pilvetön päivä.

This day (Wednesday this week) was unusually cloudless. At the moment the sky is grey, again. I don´t think we´ll see the solar eclipse today. You can see more SWF pictures here.

Antenni / An Antenna

Siirtyminen digiaikaan on teettänyt näiden kanssa paljon töitä. Onneksi taivas on vihdoin sees.

I don´t really know much about the amount of problems after starting digital TV broadcasting in Finland. What I know is that it costs a lot... Time will tell if it was worth of all that money. There´s no turning back. In the 50s they used to call the antennas "Bankruptcy rakes". Let´s hope history won´t repeat itself.

Juhannusaatto / Midsummer Eve

Juhannusaatto alkoi aurinkoisena, mutta kello 18:aan mennessä tummat pilvet peittivät taivaan ja sataa ropsautti. Kuva on otettu juuri ennen sadetta.

Satoi tai paistoi, toivotan tällä Sky Watch Friday-kuvalla hyvää juhannusta kaikille!

We had a lovely sunny Midsummer Eve until 6 pm when this picture was shot. It is warm though and there´re lots of mosquitoes. No matter what the weather is like, enjoy the Midsummer skies in the northern hemisphere here all of you!

Sky Watch Friday

Yleisö pääsi kuvaamaan Rissalaan Adex 08:aan osallistuvia lentokoneita. Operaatioiden jäljet näkyivät aikansa keskisen Suomen kesäisellä taivaalla.

One did not have to go and watch Adex 08 on the spot. It took one by surprise while driving in Central Finland yesterday.
